Winners of the contest awarded

Media Development Foundation (MDF) held the awarding ceremony of the 10 bloggers, winners of the contest “My leader Woman” and 10 leader women at the Radisson Blue Iveria Hotel, Tbilisi, on June 19.

Special prizes and certificates were handed over to the winners by the Chairperson of the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) Tamar Zhvania,  UN Women Country Representative in Georgia Erika Kvapilova, representatives of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Georgia Maia Kurtsikidze,  head of Information Service of Rustavi2 Giorgi Laperashvili,  head of the Tolerance Center Beka Mindiashvili,   Assistant Professor at the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management Tiko Tsomaia and Executive Director at United Nations Association of Georgia Ramaz Aptsiauri.

The winners of the contest  Khatia Ghoghoberidze Maia Mosiashvili, Natia Karanadze,  Tamuna Janjulia,  Nino Narimanishvili, Ana Kopaliani, Tamar Kuratishvili, Isolda Nozadze, Raphic  Abajian, Nina Marikiani prepared blogs about Arina Tavkarishvili  (Gori) , Olga Endeladze (Marneuli) , Nino Qatamadze(Tbilisi),  Nato Bendeliani  (Tagilo), Marina  Modebadze (Akhaltsikhe), Saida Novruzova (Gardabani, Sartichala), Nana Bagalishvili (Tsnori) , Nunu Gavasheli (Village Ghebi, Racha region), Seda Melkumian ( Akhalkalaki) and Karmen Ovsepian  (Ninotsminda).

Contest was aimed at enhancing the women’s participation in democratic governance and decision-making process and revealing the local leader women.

Contest was conducted with the support of the Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings.
